Two die, 19 injured in Kogi street crash

Two individuals have been confirmed lifeless, whereas 19 others sustained accidents in a street accident alongside the Lokoja–Okene freeway on Tuesday.

The Sector Commander of the Kogi State Command of the Federal Street Security Corps (FRSC), Tenimu Etuku, confirmed the incident in an announcement issued in Lokoja.

Etuku mentioned that 4 of the 19 survivors sustained various levels of accidents, starting from bruises to fractures, and have been instantly rushed to a close-by hospital for medical consideration.

He attributed the lone accident to extreme rushing.

In accordance with him, “From the manifest, the ill-fated bus reportedly left Kano on Monday night, heading to Auchi/Benin earlier than the unlucky incident that occurred at 9:40 am on Tuesday. The reason for the lone accident was extreme rushing.

“The FRSC personnel, who carried out the rescue, have deposited the 2 corpses within the morgue of the Kogi Specialist Hospital in Lokoja.”

The sector commander urged motorists to train warning on the highways and strictly adhere to site visitors guidelines and laws, particularly in the course of the Yuletide season.
