Lagos lawmaker dumps Labour Party for ADC

A member of the Lagos State Home of Meeting, Mrs Foluke Osafile, has defected from the Labour Party to the African Democratic Congress.

The Information Company of Nigeria reviews that Osafile, representing Amuwo-Odofin Constituency-01, within the Meeting, can be the Chairman Home Committee on Wealth Creation.

Confirming the event to newsmen on Saturday, Osafile, a first-time lawmaker, mentioned, “Sure, it’s true. I’ve defected to the ADC.”

Osafile mentioned this step was taken to serve the pursuits of her constituency higher and safe a brighter future for them.

“I pledge my full dedication to working with ADC leaders and stakeholders to advance the reason for good governance and efficient illustration.

“Collectively, we’ll strengthen our democratic establishments and be sure that the voices of unusual Nigerians are heard and revered.

The lawmaker is anticipated to formally announce her defection to the ADC throughout plenary within the coming days.

Osafile was elected into the Lagos Meeting in 2023 on the platform of the Labour Party, defeating the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Segun Folorunso, by a large margin.

Her victory was later challenged by the APC on the Election Petition Tribunal, which initially dominated in favour of the APC candidate.

Nevertheless, Osafile approached the Courtroom of Appeal and efficiently reclaimed her seat, bringing the authorized battle to an finish.
