2027: Tinubu stands unmatched among rivals — Ondo AG

Dr. Kayode Ajulo (SAN), the Ondo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, has described President Bola Tinubu as unparalleled and unmatched among his political rivals ahead of the 2027 general election.
He said in a statement on Wednesday that many that had shown interest in the presidential race in 2027 seemed politically unprepared.
Ajulo said: “The events surrounding the 2027 presidential election have once again affirmed what is now undeniable.
“President Bola Tinubu stands unparalleled and unmatched among his rivals.
“It has become increasingly uncertain whether any credible opposition party truly exists to challenge him, as key political actors are exposing themselves as unprepared.”
Ajulo said that politicians must have proper orientation and knowledge in governance before vying for positions.
He said: “As a lawyer and committed democrat, I believe the political space must remain open and competitive.
“However, democracy must not be sacrificed on the altar of wasteful, foreknown competitions that squander our collective resources and drain Nigeria’s future.
“On this premise, I humbly call on politicians, both in the ruling party and in the opposition, to take a deserving pause.
“Go into deep reflection. Review their stance. Use this moment not for futile agitation but for honest re-strategisation, reorientation, and genuine reorganisation.”
According to Ajulo, there is a strong need for the relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to take an active role in the reorientation of political actors.
He explained that there is a need for structured civic and political engagements that would rebuild discipline, purpose, and competence within the political class.
He added: “In this regard, an idea like Mass Mobilization for Self-Reliance, Social Justice and Economic Recovery (MAMSER) is needed now.
“It is a renewed, focused and strengthened initiative that can educate, mobilise, and realign politicians toward national interest, accountability, and meaningful service.
“We now need the calibre of committed professionals and patriots again, brining experience, direction, and credibility back into the political reorientation process.
“Crucially, the 2027 presidential election is as good as concluded!
“Therefore, what we must focus on now is 2031 election.
“The political groundwork, the civic framework, and reorientation of the political class and Nigerians must begin today, so that by 2031, Nigeria will not be dragged back into noise, confusion, and avoidable political waste.
“The next electoral cycle beckons in 2031 Prepare wisely, or face the consequences of irrelevance.”
