BRIT Properties rebrands as BRIT Holdings

BRIT Properties Nigeria Limited has marked its 16th anniversary with a bold strategic pivot, rebranding as BRIT Holdings to reflect its transition into a diversified conglomerate with interests spanning agriculture, education, and finance.

Speaking at a press conference to commemorate the milestone at the company’s Lagos headquarters, the Group Managing Director, Bright Chimezie, noted that the transition marks a new era for the firm, which began operations in 2010 with a single employee and one estate.

“Our vision is to be the face of affordable real estate in Africa by 2030,” Chimezie stated. “We want our name in every home and to make land ownership more accessible to people across the continent. We are not just selling land; we are building legacies, changing destinies, and improving communities.”

The rebranding to BRIT Holdings signals a move beyond the property sector. The group is now diversifying into transportation, agriculture, education, oil and gas, and microfinance banking. Chimezie revealed plans to establish a university and a microfinance bank to deepen wealth creation opportunities for the firm’s clientele.

Reflecting on the company’s organic growth, which was achieved without bank loans, Chimezie attributed their success to relationship-building and financial discipline. “From one estate, we now have 72 estates across Nigeria, and we are targeting expansion into other African countries,” he said. “We are creating homes for families, helping them move from one level to another and building assets that can be transferred from one generation to the next.”

To support this massive expansion, the company is leaning heavily on digital transformation and performance management.

General Manager and Head of People and Culture, Dorcas Obute, emphasised that the firm’s 1,000-strong workforce is now being guided by data-driven service delivery.

“Our operational success has been driven by discipline, clear processes, and due diligence,” Obute noted. “Our clients and our people are the driving force of our success. Reliability, integrity, and trust remain the values guiding everything we do as we move into this holding structure.”

The anniversary celebration also features an extensive Corporate Social Responsibility drive. Chairperson of the Anniversary Organising Committee, Blessing Nwafor, announced that the firm is conducting medical outreaches across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones, including a three-day programme in Lagos expected to impact 1,500 people daily.

“We chose to celebrate by giving back to communities. The Lagos programme will offer free medical consultations, surgeries, dental care, and educational support. It is open to the public at the Igbara Community Secondary School,” Nwafor explained.

In addition to the medical drive, the company will host the BRIT Marathon 2.0 on 25 April 2026, featuring a 26-kilometre route from Jakande to Sangotedo with cash prizes of up to $1,000.

On the commercial front, the firm is doubling down on its “Young Landlady” initiative, which allows women to subscribe to property plans for as low as N50,000 monthly. “We have introduced flexible payment plans to make land ownership accessible to low and middle-income earners,” Chimezie added. “This is about empowering the next generation of homeowners through innovation and value creation.”
