Abuja to Get First ‘7-Star’ Luxury Hotel as FG Signs Major Deal to Boost Tourism Economy

An agreement to build a seven-star luxury hotel in Abuja has been inked by the federal government and Delborough Hotel.

Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu, the owner of Delborough, and the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) signed a lease on Tuesday in Abuja for the hotel to be built in the Arts Village.

Hanatu Musa Musawa, Minister of Art, Culture, tourist, and Creative Economy, stated that President Bola Tinubu’s explicit order to exploit the tourist sector to diversify the economy had been given significance by the lease deal.

“I was in Lagos about a year and a half ago, and someone said to me, ‘Why not try the Delborough Hotel?'” At the time, I was a little uneasy because I’m one of those people who prefer their comfort zone. “By chance, I stumbled on the Delborough Hotel.

Honestly, for those who have not been there or those who have been there, it is almost like being teleported to a hotel or to an industry in Dubai. There is no difference with being in the Delborough Hotel in Nigeria to being in a seven-star hotel in Dubai or somewhere else,” Musawa explained.

However, you must be able to demonstrate to the world that you, as Nigerians, have taken responsibility for it before you go global. And bringing it inside Nigeria’s capital city is the simplest way for us to accomplish that,” Musawa continued.

She gave assurances about the federal government’s dedication to the cooperation, stating that it will make sure the hotel project is maintained for future generations in the coming days.

Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu, Chairman of Stanel Group, stated that Delborough’s arrival in Abuja will increase tourism, link businesses, and generate employment.

The agreement, he said, was a very memorable moment that demonstrated that all of their back-end effort was being recognised by the government.
