APC NWC Member Hails Abiodun’s Emergence As Ogun East Consensus Candidate

By Caleb Ishaya
A member of the National Working Committee, NWC, of the All Progressives Congress, Tolu Bankole, has congratulated Dapo Abiodun on his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued in Abuja yesterday, Bankole described the endorsement of the Ogun State governor by party leaders, stakeholders, and members across Ogun East as a well-deserved recognition of his leadership and commitment to party unity.
He noted that the consensus decision reflects the confidence reposed in Abiodun’s ability to effectively represent the district at the National Assembly, citing his track record in governance and development.
According to Bankole, the governor’s tenure has been marked by infrastructural development, economic expansion, and policies aimed at improving the welfare of residents. He added that Ogun State has recorded progress in key sectors such as road construction, education, healthcare, and industrial growth under Abiodun’s leadership.
The APC chieftain also commended the governor’s inclusive approach to governance, saying it has fostered unity across political and social divides while strengthening grassroots participation.
Bankole further highlighted Abiodun’s contributions to national policy discussions within the party, noting that his experience in both public service and the private sector positions him to deliver effective representation at the Senate.
He expressed confidence that Abiodun’s potential transition to the National Assembly would amplify the voice of Ogun East and attract greater federal presence to the district.
Describing the consensus arrangement as a sign of internal cohesion within the APC, Bankole praised stakeholders in Ogun East for prioritising collective interest over personal ambition.
He reaffirmed his support for Abiodun’s senatorial bid and pledged to mobilise backing across party structures ahead of the elections.
Bankole also expressed optimism that the endorsement signals a new phase of service for the governor, urging party members to remain united and focused.
He concluded that Abiodun’s emergence reinforces the APC’s commitment to presenting credible candidates capable of delivering democratic dividends to Nigerians.
