Edo Assembly confirms Bello as EdoGIS MD

SBENIN CITY — The Edo State House of Assembly on Tuesday gave its nod to Dr Innocent Eigbina Bello as Managing Director of the Edo State Geographic Information Service (EdoGIS), clearing the way for him to take charge of the agency.

Lawmakers approved the nomination after considering a report by the House Committee on Rules and Business, presented by its Chairman, Hon. Jonathan Ibhamawu Aigbokhan, who told the House that the nominee is well qualified for the role.

According to the committee, Dr Bello satisfied all the requirements and demonstrated the capacity to handle the responsibilities of the office.

With the report adopted, the Assembly confirmed his appointment without opposition.

The House subsequently adjourned plenary to June 1, 2026.
