Imo State former deputy governor, Prince Eze Madumere, has joined the race for the Imo East Senatorial seat in the 2027 General Elections.

Madumere announced his intention to contest for the position at a news briefing in Owerri, on Thursday.

He promised to pursue sustainable, inclusive, impactful and holistic leadership, if given the opportunity to serve.

He said that he had prepared a blueprint tailored towards meeting the needs and aspirations of the constituency.

Madumere said he would run on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, because he was convinced that the party is grassroots oriented, with national spread and acceptability.

He promised to embark on strategic engagements, consultations and mobilisation of the electorate in order to woo and widen his electoral opportunities.

“I am determined and resolute, going by my pedigree, experience, exposure, reach and contact and I stand a better chance to clinch the ticket of my party, the PDP.

“I am ready and prepared to serve my people and I am offering myself unconditionally, if they want the best result in 2027.

“I will work proactively, embrace all with a robust vision and mission, entrenched in providing basic infrastructure revival, youth empowerment and human capital enhancement“, Madumere said.
