Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central lawmaker, has chosen to run for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District seat using the All Progressives Congress’s Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.
As political activity inside the ruling party heats up, the move marks his official entry into the race ahead of the upcoming election cycle.
Previously serving as the Senate representative for Kaduna Central, Sani is a well-known figure in Nigerian politics and a former rights campaigner.
Given his grassroots appeal and political background, his choice is anticipated to influence the district’s contest dynamics.
The incident may increase rivalry among candidates running for the APC ticket in Kaduna Central, according to party leaders and observers.
Forms will be sold from April 25 to May 2, 2026, and completed forms must be submitted by May 4, 2026, according to a previous report from PidomNigeria Online.
Candidates for the State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidential positions will be screened in stages between May 6 and May 9, 2026.
The House of Representatives, Senate, State Houses of Assembly, governorship, and presidential primaries will start on May 15, 2026, and conclude on May 23, 2026.
