I can score against any team, Osimhen says after Derby win

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen delivered a confident message after his side’s derby win over Fenerbahçe, insisting he is capable of scoring against any opponent as Galatasaray push towards the title in the Turkish Süper Lig.
Osimhen, who found the net in the high-profile Istanbul clash, underlined his belief in his abilities and his importance to the team as the season reaches its decisive stage.
Speaking after the derby on Sunday, Osimhen was quoted as saying, “If I get the chance, I can score against any team. That is my job, and I believe I do it well. We are getting closer to the championship,” he said.
The Nigerian forward’s comments came after a physically and emotionally charged derby that saw Galatasaray strengthen their position at the top of the table with a key victory over their fiercest rivals.
Beyond his on-pitch impact, Osimhen also addressed off-field tensions surrounding the match, including reported complaints from Fenerbahçe regarding pre-match issues.
He dismissed the criticism, saying he struggled to understand the objections.
“I don’t follow social media, but someone at the training ground mentioned Fenerbahçe’s complaint. I don’t understand it. They are playing against one of the best teams in the league. Complaining about something like that doesn’t make much sense,” he stressed.
His remarks reflected the heightened rivalry between the two clubs, who are locked in a tight title race with only a few matches remaining.
Osimhen’s form has been a major factor in Galatasaray’s push for the championship, with the striker repeatedly delivering in high-pressure fixtures.
With momentum on their side and the title race entering its closing stages, Galatasaray will be relying heavily on Osimhen’s goal-scoring form as they aim to secure domestic glory.
