I will not be ashamed to speak my truth — Ife Agoro

A media personality Ifedayo Agoro has addressed criticism over her openness about personal experiences, stating that she remains committed to speaking her truth regardless of public opinion.

Agoro made the remarks during a conversation with actress Shaffy Bello on the podcast What I Know, where she clarified the extent of what she shares publicly.

“I don’t share 0.1 percent. Because my opinions are strong, people think it’s a lot. But if you go back, what have I shared?” she said.

She explained that while she discusses personal experiences such as heartbreak, she is careful not to reveal identities.

“As a woman who goes through heartbreak, I will share that. I would never mention names. I have never mentioned anybody’s name,” Agoro stated. “Even my ex-fiancé—when I said I broke off an engagement—I didn’t mention names. I don’t mention names.”

According to her, the core of her message is rooted in challenging shame and societal expectations placed on women.

“The truth of the matter is that what I share is the truth that feels shameful.And because my stance since 2016, since I focused on this platform, is that we will not be suppressed or silenced, we will not be made to feel less than because of our experiences, which means I will not be ashamed to speak my truth.”

Agoro also acknowledged that her honesty may not always sit well with everyone, but insisted that public comfort is not her responsibility.

“It may not be comfortable for you. That’s not my job,” she added
