Just in: Nenadi Usman emerges substantive LP national chairman

Former Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Labour Party Nigeria, Nenadi Esther Usman, has been elected the substantive National Chairman of the party.
She emerged at the party’s 2026 elective national convention held on Tuesday in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
Also elected was former member of the House of Representatives for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency and Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti on Political Affairs, Hon. Acho Obioma, who now serves as the party’s National Secretary.
He replaces Senator Darlington Nwokocha, who previously served as Secretary of the Caretaker Committee.
All members of the new National Working Committee emerged through a consensus arrangement.
