on

President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with state governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting, initially scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Council Chamber, began at approximately 5 p.m. after the venue was moved to the Conference Room of the President’s Office.

Governors present at Thursday’s meeting include Prof. Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, Peter Mbah of Enugu State, and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, among others.

Some states were represented by their deputy governors.

The purpose of the meeting could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.

It comes directly on the heels of an emergency closed-door session between Tinubu and the extended leadership of the Senate on Wednesday evening.

At the meeting, Senate Majority Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, said “far-reaching decisions were taken” on “matters of urgent national importance.”

He said the decisions were triggered by a resolution passed at a closed executive session of the Senate earlier the same day.

More details to come…
