North-West APC backs Tinubu

The North-West zone of the All Progressives Congress on Friday said it had mapped out strategies to secure a sweeping electoral victory for President Bola Tinubu and all its candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The party vowed to neutralise opposition influence and prevent internal divisions within its ranks.
The resolution followed the zone’s maiden meeting held on Thursday evening at its secretariat in Kaduna, coming weeks after its zonal congress was conducted on March 25, 2026.
However, a statement issued by the Zonal Publicity Secretary, Malam Musa Mada, on Friday, said the meeting was presided over by the National Vice Chairman (North-West), Garba Muhammad, and deliberated on measures to consolidate the region’s dominance as the highest vote-producing bloc in presidential elections since 1999.
According to the statement, the zonal leadership resolved to work closely with critical stakeholders across the seven states in the region to guarantee total victory for the party at all levels, including the re-election of Tinubu, APC governors, and members of the National and State Assemblies.
It read, “The meeting focused on taking measures that will make the zone sustain its leading position of producing the highest number of votes for any candidate that emerges President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria since 1999.
“The zone agreed to collaborate with all critical stakeholders of the party to ensure total victory for all the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections, especially President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC office holders in the North-West.”
The statement added that the zone adopted a “campaign of facts” as its core mobilisation strategy, aimed at promoting the achievements of the Tinubu administration under its Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The campaign will be based on verifiable achievements and the dividends of democracy delivered to the North-West in areas such as infrastructure, education, health, security, and developmental programmes,” the statement noted.
It further highlighted interventions by the North-West Development Commission, describing it as a key initiative of the current administration to drive regional growth.
On party cohesion, the zonal leadership emphasised the need to sustain unity and internal harmony, warning against emerging cracks that could weaken its electoral chances.
“The zone insists on maintaining the existing peaceful atmosphere that has kept the party united and vowed to remain vigilant in mending any foreseeable cracks that may emerge in the build-up to the 2027 general elections,” the statement added.
The APC also declared its readiness to counter opposition narratives, accusing rival parties of spreading misinformation to discredit the ruling party.
“The Zonal Secretariat is equally prepared to tackle any misinformation being created by the opposition with the sole purpose of demarketing our great party,” it stated.
The meeting reaffirmed the zone’s commitment to delivering decisive votes for the APC in 2027, setting the tone for early political mobilisation in the region.
