OPM suspends wedding of pastor’s autistic daughter following massive outrage after many men indicated interest in marrying her

Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere and his church Omega Power Ministries (OPM) have suspended the wedding of his autistic daughter, Chiemeka Chibuzor.

Shortly after Apostle Chibuzor announced that he was looking for a young able-bodied man to marry his 21-year-old autistic daughter, hundreds of men indicated interest. 

Many of the male applicants promised to love Chiemeka and treat her with respect. Some sent messages while others sent videos, begging to marry the vulnerable young woman. 

However, the move sparked outrage as many warned the televangelist that he would not get away with marrying off a vulnerable woman as he did two weeks ago when he married off his autistic son to an older woman who was offered financial incentives. 

As the outrage intensified, OPM announced that the wedding has now been called off, even though they got lots of offers from interested single men.

“Chiemeka Chibuzor wedding is hereby suspended,” OPM announced on Facebook. “More than a thousand applications. No more wedding, Pending further directive from me HRM King, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere.” 
 

Many are still calling for the wedding of the pastor’s autistic son, Aboy Chibuzor, to be nullified on the grounds that a vulnerable young man who cannot communicate is not able to give consent.
