Trump in 2 painfully awkward moments with delivery driver – 'did you vote for me?'

US President Donald Trump has been filmed in a pair of awkward exchanges with a delivery driver during a White House event, after a video was shared online by the administration.

The footage shows the president greeting a DoorDash driver who had arrived with an order, before inviting her to take part in an impromptu press conference.

During the interaction, Trump appeared to put the woman on the spot by asking about her political views. At one point, he said: “I think you voted for me. Do you think? Oh, maybe.”

The driver responded cautiously, replying: “Oh, maybe,” appearing hesitant as cameras rolled.

In a later moment, the exchange became tense again when Trump asked her about a divisive political issue. “Do you think that men should play in women’s sports?” he said.

The driver declined to engage, responding: “I really don’t have an opinion on that… I’m here about tax on tips.”

Trump replied: “You don’t? I’ll bet you do,” before lightly tapping her on the arm, creating a visibly uncomfortable moment as she attempted to steer the conversation away.

The interaction came as part of a wider event promoting tax changes, with the driver praising the policy, saying: “It has helped my family out immensely and I definitely appreciate it.”

At another point, Trump referenced her finances, saying she had “picked up an extra $11,000” due to tax changes, which she confirmed was “very surprising”.

The clip also featured a broader press briefing, where Trump took questions on issues including Iran, energy policy and US domestic politics.

Trump, who returned to the White House after winning the 2024 election, is known for his unfiltered speaking style and often unscripted interactions with members of the public and press. His approach has frequently drawn both praise from supporters for its directness and criticism from opponents who say it can lead to uncomfortable or controversial moments.

The video has since circulated widely online, with the brief exchanges attracting particular attention for their tone and the driver’s visible discomfort.

The White House has not commented further on the interaction.
