2027: Yayi thanks Tinubu, others after Ogun APC caucus endorsement

Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and key leaders of the All Progressives Congress following his emergence as the party’s consensus governorship candidate in Ogun State.

In a post shared on his Facebook page on Tuesday, Adeola described the endorsement as a humbling honour, pledging commitment to the party’s ideals and the development of the state.

“I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed leader and President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the progress of our great party and nation,” he wrote.

He also acknowledged the support of the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, and elder statesman Segun Osoba, noting that their guidance and confidence played a key role in his emergence.

“I am equally grateful to our leaders in Ogun State, His Excellency Dapo Abiodun, CON, and Baba Akinrogun Segun Osoba for their guidance, support, and confidence in my capacity to serve,” he added.

Adeola further appreciated party stakeholders and members across the state for backing his candidacy.

“My sincere appreciation also goes to all our stakeholders, party leaders, and faithful members of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State for finding me worthy to emerge as the consensus candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial election,” he said.

Describing the development as deeply humbling, the lawmaker pledged to lead a united campaign ahead of the 2027 polls.

“This honour is deeply humbling, and I do not take it for granted. I pledge my total commitment to the ideals of our party and to the service of the good people of Ogun State. Together, we will work tirelessly to build on our achievements, ensure a successful and united campaign, and emerge victoriously in 2027,” he stated.

The endorsement follows a decision by the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress at a strategic caucus meeting in Abeokuta, where Adeola was adopted as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, presided over by the state chairman, Yemi Sanusi, was attended by prominent party leaders, including Abiodun, former governors Ibikunle Amosun and Gbenga Daniel, among others.

At the gathering, Governor Abiodun urged other aspirants to support Adeola, stressing the need for unity within the party as preparations for the next election cycle gather momentum.
