A shocking hot mic moment reveals two journalists talking about a lack of security at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

It came just moments before the event, held on Saturday night, was interrupted by a shooting incident at the Washington Hilton, resulting in the evacuation of President Donald Trump and other high-ranking officials.

In the video, which has gone viral on X, a Fox 5 correspondent complains that there are “two random chicks” guarding the front door.

He adds: “They’re not even trying anymore…they’re not even secret service people. It’s like the girls who work here are holding the door.”

The clip has been seen more than 500,000 times on X, with many users reacting.

One said: “More confirmation in complete malfeasance of security or staged either way doesn’t look good.”

Another added: “Why is hotel security at the front door and not secret service?”

A third said: “Most of these journalists knew in real time, before anything happened, that stuff looked suspicious.”

Following the shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, several unfounded conspiracy theories and rumours have proliferated across social media.

These claims, described by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt as “crazy nonsense”, range from accusations of a “staged” event to theories about foreign involvement.

Some users claim the event was staged to justify the $400 million construction of a new, secure White House ballroom.

This theory gained traction after President Trump stated at a press conference that the incident proved the need for such a facility.

Cole Tomas Allen, a 31-year-old from Torrance, California, has been charged with the attempted assassination of President Trump.

Allen, who reportedly described himself as a “Friendly Federal Assassin” in writings, is being held without plea pending a hearing on Thursday.

Preliminary findings suggest the shooter specifically targeted Trump and members of his administration.

Authorities are currently examining a manifesto found in the suspect’s hotel room that allegedly outlines his intent to target officials.
