2027: NDC promises level playing field for aspirants in primaries

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has pledged to provide a level playing field for all aspirants in its primary election.
The national leader of the party, Seriake Dickson, made the promise in a statement shared on X on Friday, noting that no aspirant has been endorsed by the party leadership.
Dickson said all aspirants enjoy equal protection and a level playing field ahead of the party’s primaries.
This is coming as the NDC conducts its primary elections across the country. He said the decision not to endorse anyone, even in his home state of Bayelsa, demonstrates the party’s commitment to fairness and internal democracy.
“All aspirants have equal protection, and that is why I have not endorsed anyone, even in my home state. The same principle applies across the country,” Dickson said.
He urged aspirants and stakeholders to prioritise the interest of the young party over personal ambitions, calling for understanding, mutual respect, and peaceful conduct during the exercise.
He described the NDC as a miracle baby that has met the tight deadlines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through the efforts of its leadership.
“We have worked tirelessly every day, from morning till night, and under very difficult circumstances, to give life to our party,” he noted.
