Speaking during his declaration at a gathering of party stakeholders and supporters in Ogwashi-Uku , Aniocha South Local Government Area, High Chief Onwordi stated that his decision was informed by the need to address the gap in quality representation and to respond to calls from constituents across the LGA.
“I stand before you today to declare my intention to contest for the Aniocha South seat in the Delta State House of Assembly on the platform of our great party, the All Progressives Congress,” Onwordi announced.
“This aspiration is not driven by personal interest but by a commitment to the common good. I have, over the years, contributed to the development of Aniocha South through private initiatives.
I now seek to consolidate and expand that impact through effective legislative representation.
My pledge is to champion the cause of our people and facilitate the delivery of government projects and programmes to Aniocha South.”
High Chief Onwordi, an indigene of Ubulu-Uku, emphasized the need for innovative and youth-driven leadership in governance. “The time has come for young, innovative leaders to be elected into office.
We possess the capacity to deliver measurable impact, and I am prepared to deploy that capacity in service to Aniocha South,” he added.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the APC in Aniocha South LGA, Pastor Nobert Akachukwu Sochukwudimma, commended High Chief Onwordi for following due process in notifying the party of his aspiration.
“Chief Onwordi possesses the requisite qualities for effective representation. He is a grassroots mobilizer whose loyalty to this local government has been demonstrated through years of personal sacrifice and community service,” Pastor Sochukwudimma stated.
Other stakeholders present at the declaration described High Chief Onwordi as a worthy son of Aniocha South with a track record of philanthropy and community development that has inspired constituents across the local government area.
