Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Kano State have adopted President Bola Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The stakeholders also pledged N50m towards the purchase of Tinubu’s expression of interest and nomination forms.

The resolutions were reached during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano.

This was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State Governor, Mustapha Muhammad.

According to the statement, party leaders unanimously reaffirmed their confidence in the leadership of Tinubu, saying the endorsement was aimed at strengthening unity and ensuring victory for the party in the 2027 polls.

A motion for the adoption of Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate was moved by Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi and received unanimous support from stakeholders at the meeting.

Speaking during the session, the Kano APC Chairman, Umar Doguwa, said the state chapter had initially planned to purchase the president’s nomination forms outright but later resolved to make a financial contribution.

“We have agreed to contribute the sum of N50 million towards the purchase of the expression of interest and nomination forms for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

The stakeholders said the endorsement reflected their confidence in the president’s leadership and ongoing reforms.

They also pledged support for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf ahead of the 2027 elections.

The stakeholders said the contribution for the forms demonstrated their resolve to sustain unity within the party and consolidate on the achievements recorded under the present administration.

They added that the move was aimed at ensuring stability, cohesion and a seamless electoral process ahead of the 2027 elections.

Responding, Yusuf appreciated the gesture and reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance, people-oriented policies and the continued development of Kano State.

“I am deeply honoured by this show of confidence from our party leaders and stakeholders. This support will inspire us to do more for the people of Kano State,” he said.

The governor added, “I remain committed to inclusive governance, people-oriented programmes and projects that will continue to uplift the lives of our citizens.”

He also called on party members across the state to remain united.

“Let us continue to work together in peace and unity for the progress of our party and the prosperity of Kano State,” Yusuf said.
