Alli backs Oyo primary
A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Alli, has commended the peaceful conduct of the party’s House of Representatives primary elections held across the state on Saturday.
In a statement made available to Sunday PidomNigeria on Saturday, Alli described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and well-coordinated, saying it underscored the readiness of the APC to reclaim power in the state through unity, fairness and internal democracy.
The APC held its House of Representatives primaries across the country on Saturday, with the chairman of the committee for the exercise in Oyo, Prof. Mojeed Alabi, describing the exercise across the 14 federal constituencies in the state as peaceful, transparent and credible.
Alli praised the primary election committee for what he described as professionalism, dedication and impartiality, noting that its conduct ensured a credible and seamless process across the federal constituencies.
The senator also commended party members across the 351 wards in the state for their maturity, discipline, patience and cooperation throughout the exercise.
According to him, the orderly conduct of the primaries reflected the collective resolve of party members to strengthen the APC and position it for future electoral victories.
Alli urged aspirants and their supporters to remain united, embrace dialogue and uphold the spirit of sportsmanship, stressing that the APC remained one indivisible family committed to progress and good governance.
He further appreciated party leaders, delegates, youths, women groups and other stakeholders for their sacrifices and support, assuring them of his continued commitment to building a stronger APC in the state.
“The peaceful conduct of the primaries in Oyo State APC has demonstrated the bold resolve of the party members to deliver the state for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and also return APC as the ruling party in the state.
“Those who were expecting that the exercise would be marred by disorderliness and violence ended up waiting in vain. Members of our great party have shown that unity and discipline have returned to the party.”
