APM affirms Yakubu Adamu as Bauchi governorship candidate

The Allied People’s Movement, APM, has affirmed Yakubu Adamu as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Bauchi State.
Mr Adamu announced his emergence in a statement issued on Thursday, describing the nomination as both a great honour and a call to service.
“I accept this honour with humility, a full sense of responsibility, and an unwavering commitment to serve my dear state,” he said.
The governorship candidate expressed gratitude to Allah and commended the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, for what he described as his mentorship, support, and confidence in young leaders.
According to him, the governor has played a key role in identifying and nurturing emerging political figures by assigning them responsibilities and preparing them for future leadership challenges.
Mr Adamu said the achievements recorded by the current administration over the past seven years inspired his decision to contest the governorship seat, with a view to consolidating on the gains already made.
He also appreciated the leadership of the Allied People’s Movement, party stakeholders, members, and residents of the state for their support and confidence in his candidacy.
The APM candidate commended fellow aspirants for their conduct during the contest and urged them to unite behind the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
“Now that the contest is over and the real task begins, I urge them to join hands with us so we can remain united in purpose, focused on the bigger goal, and committed to victory,” he said.
Mr Adamu pledged to run an issue-based campaign focused on economic growth, job creation, education, healthcare, infrastructure, rural development, youth empowerment, and renewable energy.
He said his campaign would emphasise continuity, progress, and shared prosperity rather than division.
“Our state has come a long way. The foundation laid in the past seven years is strong, visible, and impactful. We must protect it, build on it, and take it to the next level,” he added.
The governorship hopeful also appealed to supporters of other aspirants to join what he described as a collective mission aimed at advancing the development of Bauchi State.
