Security forces have successfully beaten back an attempted bandit raid on the town of Rimaye in Kankia Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The attack took place late on Wednesday night but was swiftly neutralised through a coordinated response involving soldiers from the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, known as C-Watch, and local vigilante groups.
Faced with the combined resistance of these forces, the armed group was compelled to abandon the assault and flee the area.
The development was shared online on Thursday by security analyst Bakatsine, who praised the quick thinking and effective collaboration between the military and grassroots security outfits, noting that their joint effort prevented what could have easily turned into a devastating tragedy for the community.
