Correct your headline, I never quit my senatorial race – Aisha Yesufu to media

Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, has reiterated that she never quit her Federal Capital Territory, FCT, senatorial ambition under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, as portrayed in the media.
In another post on her verified X handle on Saturday, Yesufu urged media houses to correct their headlines, which suggested she stepped down from the race.
According to the co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls Movement, she fought for her senatorial ticket to the very end.
She said that the 2027 presidential election is the prize that matters in this electoral cycle.
Yesufu added that she would support the better candidate in that race, stressing that it is where her energy belongs.
“To all media houses, I did not quit. I did not step down. Correct your headline. Let no media house rewrite history. Correct your headlines. Posterity is watching.
“A flawed primary was conducted and someone else was declared. I reject the narrative that I quit.
“What I did was choose, for the greater good of the party and the nation, to accept a flawed outcome rather than tear the NDC apart when a bigger fight looms,” she said.
