Dangote refinery cuts petrol gantry price by N25 per litre

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced its petrol gantry price by N25 per litre, bringing the ex-depot price down from N1,275 to N1,250 per litre.

A senior official of the Dangote Group, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to comment publicly, confirmed the development on Saturday.

According to the official, the price adjustment was driven by the recent decline in crude oil prices on the international market.

“We have reduced the petrol price to N1,250 at our gantry. This has to do with the current reduction in global oil prices, though everything is still volatile and requires caution,” he said.

The reduction comes amid ongoing fluctuations in global energy markets and changing pricing dynamics within Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.

Industry pricing data showed that some major depots, including Aiteo and NIPCO, were selling petrol at about N1,272 per litre, while Integrated Energy, Ascon, and African Terminal were trading around N1,274 per litre, slightly below Dangote Refinery’s previous gantry price of N1,275 per litre.

The latest price cut is expected to impact fuel pricing across the supply chain, particularly for marketers sourcing products directly from the refinery.

Petrol prices have risen significantly in recent months following increases in international crude oil prices, with pump prices climbing from about N830 per litre to around N1,300 per litre in many parts of the country.

Diesel and aviation fuel prices have also recorded notable increases during the same period, adding to operating costs for businesses and transportation operators nationwide.
