Jigawa: Tinubu floors Osifo in APC presidential primaries
President Bola Tinubu on Saturday floored Stanley Osifo in the presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress in Jigawa State.
While President Tinubu secured 206,420 votes to emerge the winner of the primaries, his only contender did not record any vote.
Governor Umar Namadi, the Chief Returning Officer for the APC Presidential primary election, announced the result in Dutse on Saturday.
Namadi declared Tinubu the winner after collating results from the 27 local government areas of the state.
He said: “My name is Umar Namadi, the Coalition Officer for Jigawa State.
“The total number of registered voters in Jigawa is 330,327 and the total number of accredited voters is 206,520.
“The scores by the two contestants are as follows: President Bola Tinubu scored 206,520 votes while Mr. Stanley Osifo scored zero votes.”
While commending the local government coalition officers for their diligence and hard work, Namadi said the result would be transmitted to the APC headquarters for the final declaration of the winner of the primary education.
