Lagos is buzzing with one of the most bizarre and disturbing scandals to hit the internet in a while and it involves a billionaire businessman, a used sanitary pad, and allegations of fraud, theft and intimidation
According to online reports, a prominent businessman in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector allegedly visited his girlfriend of over seven years at her Ikoyi home earlier this year.
The woman, whose luxury lifestyle, overseas trips and even a Lagos home were reportedly funded by the mogul, was on her menstrual cycle during the visit.
After he left, she noticed that a used sanitary pad she had disposed of in her bathroom bin had gone missing.
She called him back and confronted him, and while he allegedly denied it, she reportedly searched his belongings and found the pad tucked inside his pocket.
Fearing the worst and suspecting ritual motives, the woman fled the property immediately.Â
But that was just the beginning. Things allegedly spiraled further when the businessman reportedly attempted to take back the house he had gifted her by forging ownership documents.
Sources claim his associates later broke into the apartment and made away with: A Range Rover, A 2024 Lexus RX350, $50,000 cash, ₦10 million cash, Jewelry worth over £20,000
She also alleged that property documents originally in her name were fraudulently altered and re-registered in the businessman’s name through corrupt officials.
The woman and her family have since faced threats and intimidation, forcing her to flee the country while pursuing legal action.
The matter is reportedly now under investigation by the Special Fraud Unit in Ikoyi, while the businessman is said to have gone into hiding.
