SGN completes statewide rollout of Tinubu farmers’ support

…Reaches 1,000 Ondo Farmers

— Distributes sprayers, rain boots across communities

The Sunshine Grassroots Network (SGN), a support group for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, says it has completed the statewide rollout of the Tinubu Farmers’ Support (TFS) Programme, reaching 1,000 farmers across the three senatorial districts of Ondo State.

Director-General of SGN, Dayo Awude, said the intervention involved the distribution of agricultural inputs, including sprayers and rain boots, to farmers in rural communities. He noted that the programme was sponsored by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

Awude explained that the TFS initiative builds on earlier interventions by the group, including the Tinubu Free Fuel (TFF) scheme for commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators, the BTO Widows’ Mite empowerment programme, and the distribution of aprons to market women in selected markets.

Beneficiaries described the intervention as timely, saying the tools would ease farm operations, reduce manual stress, and boost productivity.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Awude conveyed the goodwill of the minister, stating that the programme reflects his commitment to grassroots development and support for local farmers.

He added that the initiative aligns with the administration’s broader reforms and complements the Federal Government’s food security drive.

“The Tinubu Farmers’ Support Programme is part of wider efforts to strengthen food production and support rural livelihoods,” he said.

Awude, alongside SGN officials, also called for continued support for the Tinubu administration, citing ongoing reforms and infrastructure projects in the state, including the dualisation of the Akure–Ore Road, Akure–Ado-Ekiti Road, Ilesha–Akure–Benin Road, and the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway passing through Ondo State.

Farmers who benefited from the programme commended the initiative, noting its positive impact on their farming activities and livelihoods.

The completion of the rollout underscores SGN’s expanding grassroots engagement, reinforcing its role in delivering community-based interventions sponsored by Tunji-Ojo in support of the administration’s policies.
