UCH Staff Caught In Shocking Diesel Diversion Scandal Amid Hospital Power Crisis
A fresh scandal has erupted at the University College Hospital (UCH) after some staff members were allegedly caught diverting diesel intended to power essential units within the facility.
The hospital, which has been grappling with a severe power crisis, has reportedly had several of its sections plunged into darkness due to insufficient electricity supply.
Against this backdrop, diesel allocated to keep life-saving units running was allegedly being siphoned off and sold by certain members of staff an act that could have grave consequences for patients dependent on powered medical equipment.
The alleged diversion was uncovered by the hospital’s Chief Security Officer, who reportedly caught those involved in the act.
A video that subsequently went viral showed two staff members in possession of six 25-litre kegs of diesel loaded onto a truck, suggesting a deliberate attempt to remove the fuel from the premises.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, raising serious questions about internal oversight and the safety of patients at the institution.
