Ghanaian musician Akiyana has praised Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare following his outstanding performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, joking that she has “four girls for him” if he returns to Ghana.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM monitored by ibynews.com, Akiyana said she is not a big football fan but has been following Ghana’s matches at the ongoing tournament.
“I am not a football fan but I have been following the Ghana matches and so far so good, I love the way they are playing now. They are really doing well,” she said.
When asked about the player who has impressed her the most, she mentioned Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.
“Benjamin is doing a good job. I have four girls for him,” she added.
Ghana will face Croatia in their final Group L match on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Philadelphia.
The Black Stars currently have four points and sit second in the group behind England. Croatia are third with three points.
Ghana need at least a draw or a win against Croatia to qualify for the Round of 32.
The team has also impressed defensively, keeping clean sheets in their first two matches of the tournament. They will aim to maintain that record against Croatia, who need a positive result to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
