APC women leader commissions Tinubu Torchbearers’ secretariat in Abuja

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Women Leader, Hon. Mary Alile Idele, PhD, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, commissioned the national secretariat of the Tinubu Torchbearers (TTB) in Abuja.

Idele described the facility as a strategic hub for grassroots mobilization in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and his re-election bid in 2027.

In her address at the event, Idele said the commissioning marked a significant milestone in efforts to deepen political engagement and communicate the achievements of the Tinubu administration to ordinary Nigerians.

“The commissioning of this National Secretariat is both symbolic and strategic. This Secretariat will serve as the operational hub of the Tinubu Torchbearers movement nationwide,” Idele said.

Idele highlighted the rapid expansion of the Tinubu Torchbearers since its national inauguration.

According to her, the movement has successfully cascaded the “Torch of Renewed Hope” across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, reaching all 774 Local Government Areas and 8,809 wards.

“All 774 Local Government Coordinators have successfully exchanged the torchlight with the 8,809 Ward Coordinators across Nigeria. This extraordinary achievement reflects the strength, structure, and reach of the Tinubu Torchbearers movement,” she said.

The APC women leader praised President Tinubu’s leadership and the efforts of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in women and youth empowerment.

She also commended the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, for supporting greater participation of women in party activities.

Among key initiatives to be coordinated from the new secretariat are weekly intercessory prayers led by female ministers, royal sisters, and various women’s prayer networks.

The facility, she said, will also host a “Women Situation Room” for real-time monitoring of TTB activities and election-related developments across Nigeria’s polling units.

Additionally, Idele announced the “Do Know & Benefit” Digital Wristband Initiative, a technology-driven project designed to enable citizens to access information on government programmes and achievements by scanning a wristband with their mobile devices. The innovation is expected to be unveiled during the event.

She reaffirmed the commitment of progressive women to the Tinubu administration, declaring that they are “prepared, organized, and mobilized” to strengthen grassroots support ahead of future elections.
