Church Empowers Over 10,000 Nigerians With Skills In Major 10 Year Milestone

Dominion Harvest International Church has equipped over 10,000 Nigerians with vocational, professional, and digital skills over the course of ten years, reflecting its dedication to making a difference in people’s lives beyond its religious mandate.

This milestone was celebrated at the church’s 10th anniversary and award service, held at the University of Lagos, where leaders looked back on a decade of ministry, community engagement, and social impact.

Addressing attendees, Senior Pastor Abiodun Oso emphasized that skills empowerment has been a foundational pillar of the ministry from the very beginning and remains central to its vision today.

He noted that the church has offered free training in areas such as artificial intelligence, public speaking, programming, and content development all aimed at boosting participants’ employability and creating economic opportunities across the country.

Pastor Oso explained that this approach stems from the church’s belief in holistic ministry one that addresses the spiritual, mental, and physical dimensions of a person’s life.

He added that new training programmes are currently in progress as the church looks to broaden its impact in human capital development.

As part of the anniversary festivities, the church honoured 31 distinguished Christians who have made notable contributions in fields including education, medicine, information technology, entrepreneurship, and public service.

This recognition initiative, which was launched in 2023, is designed to celebrate individuals who have created meaningful impact in their respective fields and communities.

Pastor Oso stressed the integrity of the selection process, noting that recipients are neither required to pay nor to campaign for the award most are nominated by others, and many are unknown to him personally.

The church leader also revealed that a mortgage financing scheme run through his company is helping Nigerians particularly those in low- and middle-income brackets access land and housing through single-digit interest rates, making home ownership a more realistic goal for many.

On the broader state of the country, Oso expressed confidence in Nigeria’s potential, stating that achieving national greatness requires both responsible leadership and committed citizenship working in tandem.

Guest speaker Dr Olumide Emmanuel also took the opportunity to commend the church’s growth and resilience over the past decade, attributing its accomplishments to divine intervention rather than human effort alone.

He noted that while human support has its limitations, divine assistance is boundless and capable of producing results that defy ordinary explanation.

The anniversary served as a testament to the church’s decade-long commitment to skills development, excellence, and social empowerment underscoring the meaningful role that faith-based organisations can play in community building and national development.
