Democracy thrives when sacrifice is remembered, loyalty rewarded – APC group

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress Justice Forum has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to recognise and reward loyal party members who contributed to the party’s success in the 2023 general elections.
In a statement issued to mark Democracy Day on Friday, the group said democracy is strengthened when sacrifices made by political actors at the grassroots level are acknowledged and rewarded.
It said many APC members in Oyo State played key roles in mobilising support during the 2023 elections, working at ward and community levels to secure victory for the party.
According to the forum, such contributions should be reflected in political appointments, empowerment programmes, and federal government interventions.
“Democracy thrives when sacrifice is remembered, and loyalty is rewarded,” the group stated.
The Justice Forum described grassroots mobilisers as the backbone of the party’s electoral success, stressing that their continued commitment depends on inclusion and recognition.
It urged the President to ensure that stakeholders in Oyo State who supported the party’s victory are not overlooked in ongoing governance decisions.
“Rewarding loyalty is not patronage. It is justice. It is the surest way to strengthen the APC in Oyo State ahead of 2027,” the group added.
The group also extended Democracy Day greetings to Nigerians and reaffirmed support for the APC-led administration.
