Dollar to Naira exchange rate today, June 18, 2026: Nigerian Naira records highest depreciation
The Naira recorded the highest depreciation against the dollar on Friday at the official foreign exchange market to end the week bearish.
The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira further declined on Friday to
N1,370.46 against the dollar, down from N1,363.30 exchanged on Thursday. This means that the Nigerian currency dropped N7.2 against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.
DAILY POST reports that the Friday decline is the highest in the week ending.
Meanwhile, at the black market, the naira remained flat at N1,395 per dollar, the same rate as the previous day.
The development comes as the country’s external debt surged to $51.03 billion as of Thursday.
At the official foreign market, the Naira recorded depreciation throughout this week except on Monday.
Also in the week under review, the Naira has lost N14.19 against the dollar at the official FX market.
