Horror as woman gang raped by 5 men – piece of wood inserted into victim's body

Police are hunting five men after a woman was allegedly gang raped and had a piece of wood inserted into her body. A medical examination found the victim also had live bullet lodged in her body as well as ‘a stone’.

The horrific attack happened in the Begusarai district of the northeastern state of Bihar, India, on June 11. It’s reported the woman was attacked in her own home when a gang of men struck when they locked her husband in the bathroom.

Detectives said the woman was tied up and gagged before being taken out of the house. According to the police report, the alleged rapists threatened the woman with a knife, beat and raped her before she was eventually able to escape.

The Indian Express reports the husband who had been trapped while his wife was attacked was eventually freed after she was able to call her sister-in-law who alerted the police.

Two days after the attack the woman was taken to hospital for the second time after she complained of persistent pain. Doctors who examined her found she had the bullet, stone and piece of wood inside her body.

The woman had lost consciousness during her ordeal and it’s believed the objects were sickeningly inserted when she was passed out.

It’s emerged the woman had previously reported an attempted rape at her house when three men entered the home and attempted to rape her before stealing cash and jewellery. No one has been charged over this first incident.

DSP Anand Kumar Pandey said: “The accused involved in the incident will be arrested, and a speedy trial will be ensured.

“If any negligence on the part of the police comes to light, action will be taken against the concerned personnel.”
