Ed Sheeran Announces Career Pause After Tour to Focus on Family Life

Grammy-winning British singer Ed Sheeran has announced plans to take a temporary break from his music career to focus on his family after completing his current tour.
The “Shape of You” singer shared the update on Saturday, June 13, 2026, during the opening night of his LOOP tour in Glendale, Arizona.
Speaking to the audience, the father of two explained that he intends to step away from the spotlight for a while once the tour wraps up in order to spend time with his children, telling fans he might be absent for a period but expressing love and gratitude to those in attendance.
Sheeran and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, married in 2019 and share two young daughters.
This would not be his first extended break from the industry, having previously stepped away from music in 2015 and again between 2019 and 2021 following the success of his Divide tour.
