LBS partners Aquiline on security leadership programme

Aquiline Consulting Limited, in partnership with Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University, has launched an executive education programme aimed at strengthening leadership capacity across Nigeria’s security sector amid growing security challenges and resource constraints.

The Advanced Leadership Course for Senior Executives in Security (Public & Private) is scheduled to be held from September 14 to 18, 2026, and will bring together senior officials from government, law enforcement agencies, corporate security units and critical infrastructure organisations.

According to the organisers in a statement on Monday, the programme is designed to equip participants with strategic, operational and leadership capabilities needed to manage an increasingly complex security environment.

The programme fee is N1.65m, with registration currently open.

The organisers noted that governments, businesses and security institutions across Nigeria and Africa are facing increasing pressure to respond to both traditional and emerging threats, including cyber risks, organised crime and infrastructure vulnerabilities, while operating within limited budgets.

They added that although investments in surveillance systems, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity tools have increased, leadership effectiveness remains a key factor in institutional performance.

Speaking on the programme, Academic Director, Isaac Orolugbagbe, said, “Technology is an important enabler, but it is not a substitute for leadership. The ability to anticipate risks, make sound strategic decisions, and lead organisational transformation will determine how effectively institutions respond to today’s security challenges.”

Also commenting, Managing Director of Aquiline Consulting, Onyekachi Adekoya, said, “Investing in leadership development is essential to building stronger, more responsive security institutions. This programme is designed to equip leaders not just to respond to today’s challenges, but to anticipate and shape the future of security in Nigeria and across Africa.”

The five-day programme will cover strategic leadership in complex environments, risk assessment and crisis management, governance and institutional accountability, innovation in security operations, organisational resilience and future-focused decision-making.

Participants will also be exposed to global security trends, scenario-based learning and practical frameworks for managing high-stakes security environments.

According to the organisers, participants are expected to develop strategies for improving institutional performance, strengthen crisis leadership and decision-making skills, and build organisations capable of adapting to evolving threats.

The course is targeted at senior executives in both the public and private sectors, including personnel from law enforcement and intelligence agencies, security consultancies, corporate security departments and risk management functions.

The inaugural cohort will be limited in size to facilitate interaction and engagement between participants and faculty.
