EDHA Confirms Osifo As Commissioner

Dr Washington Osa Osifo was yesterday officially confirmed as Commissioner by Members of Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA) in the legislative Chamber, Benin City.
Speaking before his confirmation, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, drew the attention of House members to the letter written to the House by his Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo, to confirm Dr Osifo As Commissioner.
He drew Members attention to the fact that he has been screened previously.
The Speaker hinted that the second nominee on the Governor’s list of Commissioners is Kayode Jeff.
Hon Agbebaku disclosed that Osifo ‘s nomination was based on capacity and intellect.
However, Hon .Dr. Richard Osaro Edosa, House Majority leader, initiated Dr. Osifo confirmation and he was seconded by Hon. Osamwonyi Uhunoma Kycee, representing Uhunmwode Constituency.
Also yesterday, three bills on Land matters, Fire Service Regulations and Rural access Roads Authority were passed for Second Reading.
While reflecting on the past primaries of the All Progressives Congress APC, Speaker Agbebaku urged Members to forge ahead with philosophical calmness.
On Security, the speaker condemned the recent Vegetable Market abduction and called on Edo Citizens to be vigilant.
The House adjourned to Monday next week.
