FUPRE student dies after alleged stabbing by his older brother over hostel dispute


A 100-level student of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) has reportedly died after allegedly being stabbed by his older brother during a dispute at the institution’s hostel.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday evening June 16th at hostel c within the university premises.
Confirming the development, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Ezekiel Agbalagba, said the student lost his life following the incident.
According to the Nation, the brothers had been involved in a long-standing disagreement which allegedly escalated over a dispute linked to a pair of bathroom slippers.
Sources claimed that the elder brother, identified as Joshua, invited the victim to the hostel’s backyard to settle the issue.
However, the confrontation reportedly turned violent, with the suspect allegedly attacking his younger brother before fleeing the scene.
Despite sustaining serious injuries, the victim reportedly managed to move from the scene to another section of the hostel, where he was later discovered by fellow students who immediately raised the alarm.
