Passenger Dies During Benue Journey as Transport Company Searches for Family

The Benue Links management has appealed to the public for assistance in identifying and locating the family of a passenger identified only as Mr Timothy, who reportedly d!ed while travelling aboard one of its buses from Makurdi to Ihugh.
According to the transport company, the incident occurred on Tuesday as the vehicle approached Ihugh in the Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the management of the company’s Ihugh-Vandeikya Branch, it was disclosed that the deceased had boarded a Benue Links bus in Makurdi and was travelling to Korinya, according to the passenger manifest he completed before departure.
The company explained that the incident occurred as the bus drew close to Ihugh.
Benue Links clarified that the d£ath was not connected to any road traffic accident, stressing that there was no collision or reported mishap involving the bus throughout the journey.
Following the incident, the company stated that the remains of the deceased had been deposited at a mortuary in Ihugh for preservation and identification purposes.
It has appealed to members of the public who may know the deceased or his relatives to assist in notifying his family and directing them to reach out to the management of the Benue Links Ihugh-Vandeikya branch for identification and further arrangements.
The circumstances surrounding the cause of d£ath have not been publicly disclosed.
