Popular Ghanaian spiritualist Nana Kwaku Bonsam has demonstrated what he described as his spiritual powers during an interview with English broadcasters Piers Morgan and Simon Jordan, claiming he used traditional methods to affect England captain Harry Kane’s performance during the 2026 FIFA World Cup match against Ghana.
The claims gained attention after Ghana and England played out a goalless draw, with Kane failing to find the back of the net despite England controlling much of the game.
Before the Group L encounter, Nana Kwaku Bonsam had claimed that he would place a spiritual spell on the Three Lions captain to limit his impact during the match. He is also known for previous claims involving Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury during the 2014 World Cup.
Following Kane’s quiet performance against Ghana, the spiritualist’s comments resurfaced online, with some fans linking the striker’s display to the alleged curse.
During the interview, Kwaku Bonsam showed Piers Morgan and Simon Jordan what he described as a bottle containing more than 25 snakes, claiming it demonstrated the strength of his spiritual practices.
He also explained how he allegedly “tied” Harry Kane’s legs spiritually to prevent him from performing at his best against Ghana.
According to him, the spell contributed to Kane missing a major opportunity during the match.
Kwaku Bonsam also revealed that he had placed spiritual actions against an English journalist who criticised him and claimed his powers were fake.
However, he stated that he has since “released” Harry Kane from the alleged curse.
The claims have continued to generate debate online, with some people questioning the spiritualist’s statements while others remain interested in traditional beliefs and their place in football.
