Man beaten to pulp after being accused of stealing money in Anambra

A man was beaten to a pulp by some persons after being accused of stealing money.
It was gathered that the incident occurred in Onitsha, Anambra State.
In a video sighted on Facebook, the suspect swore on the lives of his mother and siblings that he did not steal the money.
The chairman of Human Rights Defenders (HURIDE) Ebonyi State chapter, Sampson Iko Nweke, who shared the video said it has been confirmed the guy didn’t steal the money.
Mr Nweke raised concern about the spate of jungle justice in the country, urging the man to immediately seek redress.
“See what Igbo brothers did to a fellow brother over a mere unverified accusation of theft,” he wrote.
“Now, it has been confirmed the guy didn’t steal the money after receiving this level of jungle treatment.
“Stop Jungle justice especially over minor issues. Treat others the way you would like to be treated. This guy must seek redress immediately. Who knows him, please?”
