Lalong distributes farm inputs, food items to constituents

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Simon Bako Lalong, has distributed fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and food items including bags of rice, beans and maize to constituents across the six Local Government Areas of the Senatorial District.

The distribution exercise, which took place in Shendam, the zonal headquarters of Plateau South, attracted supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), community leaders and citizens from across the zone.

Speaking during the event, Senator Lalong said the intervention was part of his determination to empower his constituents, improve their livelihoods and strengthen their economic capacity.

He noted that the distribution formed part of his broader engagement with the people in appreciation of their unwavering support, cooperation and partnership.

The Senator also announced plans for the construction of three Skills Acquisition Centres in Shendam, Qua’an Pan and Wase Local Government Areas to equip youths and women with practical skills for self-reliance and economic growth.

In addition, he disclosed that over 500 solar-powered street lights are currently being installed across the six Local Government Areas of Plateau South to improve security and enhance socio-economic activities in communities.

Senator Lalong expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support and commitment to the development of the nation. He urged the people to continue supporting the President and the APC in future elections.

In his remarks, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, described the empowerment programme as another demonstration of Senator Lalong’s commitment to the welfare of the people.

According to him, Senator Lalong has consistently shown that he cares deeply for his constituents through impactful projects and interventions.

He highlighted several developmental projects facilitated by the Senator across Plateau South and urged the people to sustain their support for him to enable him deliver even more dividends of democracy.

Also speaking, the APC State Secretary, Hon. Fidelity Longban, commended Senator Lalong for the massive empowerment initiative, describing him as a source of pride to Plateau State and the nation due to his wealth of experience, dedication and patriotism.

He called on the people of Plateau South to re-elect Senator Lalong for another term, stressing that his track record of performance and service had earned him the confidence of the electorate.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the APC Chairman in Shendam Local Government Area expressed appreciation to Senator Lalong for his continued support to the people.

He noted that the constituents were delighted that the Senator consistently returned to give back to the people and assured that the items distributed would be judiciously utilized to promote development and economic empowerment across the communities.

The event further reinforced Senator Lalong’s commitment to grassroots development, economic empowerment and the improvement of living conditions for the people of Plateau South Senatorial District.
