A 31-year-old man, Kensworth Alton Francis, has been sentenced to life in prison for the m8rder of two Nigerian men, Tosin Amos-Arowoshegbe and Chibueze Momah, in Canada.

Amos-Arowoshegbe, 25 and Momah,22, were fatally shot at a Vaughan nightclub in Ontario, north of Toronto, where they both worked as security guards.

LIB reported that the shooting took place at the ATL Lounge in the area of Highway 7 and Keele Street on July 23, 2022, at about 3:30 a.m.

Investigators said a fight broke out inside the lounge before the shooting.

A 20-year-old woman was also injured in the shooting and suffered serious injuries but survived.

Following the shooting, members of the York Regional Police homicide unit, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police began an investigation and issued a Canada-wide warrant for Kensworth Alton Francis.

Nearly two years later on March 24, 2024, Francis was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Hartford, Conn., and later extradited to York Region to stand trial.

A jury found Francis guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and one count of unlawfully causing bodily harm.

He was sentenced at the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on Friday, June 19, 2026.

Francis received two life sentences for the murder convictions, with no eligibility for parole for 25 years.

He also received an additional eight-year sentence for unlawfully causing bodily harm.

All sentences are to be served concurrently.
