Obi Sparks Debate After Outlining Talks-With-Bandits Strategy and Power Plan

In a recent online interview, the Nigeria Democratic Congress’s 2027 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, outlined his approach to tackling insecurity, describing it as a strategy centred on negotiating with b@ndits and armed groups willing to embrace peace, while taking a firm stance against those who persist in violence.

He also recommitted to his earlier pledge of generating 10,000 megawatts of electricity within four years, stressing that any borrowing under his administration would be channelled strictly into productive sectors such as agriculture.

He drew comparisons with Bangladesh’s efficient use of land as part of his economic vision, though he refrained from going into specific step-by-step operational details, maintaining that voters should judge his capability based on his existing track record.

The exchange with the interviewer drew mixed reactions from viewers online.

While his supporters commended his direct responses and composed demeanour throughout the interview, critics argued that his answers were evasive and lacked sufficient depth, with some online commentators even poking fun at minor, unrelated moments from the conversation, such as incidental physical gestures.
