Oyo School Abduction Crisis Government Launches International Rescue Push as Search Tightens

The Federal Government has disclosed that international collaboration is among the measures being deployed to secure the safe release of 47 teachers and students k!dn@pped from public and private schools in Yawota and Ahoro Esienle communities, Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
President Bola Tinubu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, gave the assurance on Thursday during the commissioning of the remodelled 154-bed Premier Hotel in Ibadan.
“I wish to assure you that every realistic measure, including international collaboration, is being taken to ensure that the k!dn@pped victims in Oriire Local Government are safely brought home without h@rm or avoidable loss of life,” he said.
Tinubu also reassured residents of Oyo State and the South-West that the Federal Government is intensifying efforts to curb b@nditry, k!dn@pping, and other criminal activities nationwide.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant and support security agencies through intelligence sharing, while calling on traditional and religious institutions to strengthen community security.
The President stressed that peace and security remain essential for economic growth, noting that the government has made improvements in intelligence gathering, inter-agency coordination, technological surveillance, and support for security agencies over the past three years.
He also disclosed that legislation aimed at strengthening policing at all levels is currently before the National Assembly.
