Rainstorm has k!lled a woman, Aisha Sagir and her 4-year-old granddaughter, Aisha Shuaibu, in Unguwar Katsinawa, Bara Village, Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The heavy rainstorm accompanied by strong winds destroyed several houses, livestock and other valuables worth millions of naira in Bara.
A resident of Bara, Muhammad Nasiru, told Daily Trust that despite the downpour, the major destruction was caused by flash flood from northern parts of the neighboring Jambba community where flooded water swarmed and washed away several houses at Unguwar Katsinawa.
“The flooded water struck from an unknown location at high speed destroying houses, livestock and other valueables because nobody thought of water coming from that location in Bara. Surprisingly the water flooded houses and killed two persons including a 50-year-old housewife and her granddaughter at Unguwar Katsinawa,” Nasiru said.
He added that apart from the destruction of properties, the incident has rendered many families homeless.
Public Relations Officer of Bauchi State Police Command, SP Nafiu Habib, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday.
“At about 1000 hours today, 10th June 2026, Kirfi LGA experienced heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds. The severe weather incident resulted in the tragic loss of Aisha Sagir, 50-year-old, and her granddaughter, Aisha Shuaibu, 4-year-old, both of Unguwar Katsinawa, Bara Village, Kirfi LGA,” the statement read.
“In addition to the loss of lives, the rainstorm destroyed several houses, livestock, and other valuables worth millions of naira.
