Tragic update after baby 'snatched from pushchair' in Germany and major search launched

The body of a baby has been found by police amid a frantic search for a missing three-month-old who was reportedly snatched from his pushchair. Emergency services were called last night, on June 18 at around 11.30pm local time, by the baby’s parents in Renningen, Germany to report he had gone missing.
The parents contacted police over their missing son after he reportedly disappeared from his pushchair. Police said the baby was left alone “for a short time” and added that they believe “an unknown person lifted the child from a stroller and took it away”. A body was found at around 1.45 today, June 19. Identification is underway.
The search for the missing baby sparked a huge search, which also involved drones, helicopters, firefighters, and rescue dogs.
Before the body was discovered, police said: “We began our search at the scene of the crime and are working our way outwards in a circular pattern. Of course, the child could already be somewhere else entirely.”
Residents had formed groups to help with the search, but police warned: “Currently, calls to participate in search measures are being shared. We urgently ask you to refrain from doing so. Uncoordinated search efforts can hinder the ongoing investigations as well as the work of the emergency services.”
In its latest update, Ludwigsburg Police said: “During the search for the missing baby, police discovered the body of a baby at approximately 1.45pm.
“It is possible that the body is that of the missing boy. Police identification efforts are ongoing.
“Further details regarding the circumstances of the discovery or the infant’s death are under investigation by the Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation, and cannot be released at this time for investigative reasons.”
