Troops foil ISWAP attack in Borno, launches counter-offensive,

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully repelled an attack by suspected ISWAP terrorists in Borno state following a coordinated counter-offensive involving both ground forces and the Nigerian Air Force.
The military said the insurgents launched simultaneous attacks on troops’ positions at Dusten Kura and Chara Road in the Buratai axis of Biu Local Government Area in the early hours of Thursday.
In a statement issued by Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer of Operation Hadin Kai, the troops quickly detected the assault through intelligence reports and responded with superior firepower.
According to the military, air and ground forces worked in close coordination to halt the advance of the attackers, with surveillance and precision strikes by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai playing a crucial role in the operation.
The statement noted that the aerial bombardment disrupted the terrorists’ movements and enabled ground troops to launch an effective counter-attack, forcing the insurgents to flee the area.
Military authorities disclosed that the terrorists suffered significant casualties and lost equipment during the failed assault.
The command further stated that no soldier was killed or injured during the operation, describing the outcome as a testament to the growing synergy between the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force in the fight against insurgency.
Operation Hadin Kai reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive operations against terrorist groups across the North-East and urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible intelligence to enhance ongoing military efforts.
